Steven McCoy & Greater Purpose

[ by joe538.com ]

John 4:23,24
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him; God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The Beginning
Greater Purpose (GP) is a ministry that was conceived by the Holy Ghost and birthed through Minister Steven McCoy in October of 2001. After much prayer and fasting, the Lord confirmed his promise with thirty of Baltimore's gifted and talented vocalists and musicians. These Levities carry an unusual, yet unique sound and anointing. Greater Purpose is not only singers and musicians, but they are also living testimonies.

The Ministry
On May 18, 2002, GP was introduced to the body of Christ at the First Apostolic Faith Church located in Baltimore, Maryland. Henceforth, God has opened several doors and has granted his unmerited favor upon the ministry. GP has toured extensively throughout the East Coast proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song. The CD entitled "Strivin' Da Struggle" was released on July 24, 2004 at the Life Celebration Church in Baltimore, Maryland. The unmeasured event captured the hearts of approximately 700 worshippers of diverse social and cultural backgrounds. As God continues to reveal his blessings, the ministry will strive to meet the mark of his excellence.

The Vision
Steven McCoy's vision is to expand the perception of Christ to believers as well as non-believers. His focus is to become what he refers to as "A Church Without Walls". Greater Purpose's desire is to go back to the streets, nightclubs, public parks and prisons to minister to those who are partaking in the very things in which we seek deliverance. The ministry's goal is to lift up the name of Jesus through song, and to be living examples, in order for God to be manifested.
